I don't know about you but I've often struggled to buy gifts for men. I seemed to fall into the same habit of buying t-shirts and socks for all occasions which got boring pretty quickly.

But throughout my sustainable living journey, I've been looking at gifts differently and wanted to find presents that were not only interesting and useful, but that left little impact on the world around us too.

As Father's Day is fast approaching (it falls on the 20th June this year) I thought I'd put together this gift guide that's full of fun, useful and stylish gifts for the eco-warrior dad!

The items I have chosen here are made by small, eco-conscious businesses plus, they're suitable for a range of budgets.

So go ahead and check out the items below from some of my favourite Etsy shops as top gifts this year for eco-conscious dads.

1. Handmade Bamboo Wrist Watch

These stunning handcrafted wrist watches are a work of art. Made of sustainably sourced bamboo and natural hemp fibers for the strap, they are full of natures charm and quality feels. They are all fitted with a Swiss quartz movement by Ronda, and each one comes with a 2 year warranty. Plus, for every purchase made, a tree gets planted!

2. Natural Shampoo Bar

Swapping to a shampoo bar is just one of the ways you can reduce your plastic consumption.

I haven't looked back since making the switch myself and find that my skin and scalp is in much better shape due to the natural ingredients found in the bars.

These bars are available in 3 different scents and you can also choose the plastic free travel tin for storage.

Highly recommended and a great gift idea this Father's day.

3. Chocolate Tool Box

This is actually chocolate! How amazing does it all look! Want an incredibly intricate but delicious gift for your dad this Father's day? Then this has to be it! So much detail, right down to the hand-finished coco 'rust'!

And what's even better is that the box can be personalised to add your own special message. Just brilliant!

4. Viking Coffee Cup

I love all the unusual homewares and ceramics from Frank & Pig but especially love this Viking style mug!

Handmade from ceramic with a bronze antique glaze, no 2 mugs will ever be the same.

The glaze tones work beautifully with the handcrafted wooden handle too which ties this quirky piece together.

Coffee anyone??

5. Personalised Cork Notebook

Another brilliant gift idea this Father's day is this A5 sized cork notebook. It is available in 2 different colourways - black or grey as shown in the photo opposite, and it can even be personalised!

Pages inside are lined and made from recycled paper with a natural, flecked appearance.

6. Bamboo Safety Razor

Another one of my sustainable swaps this year was moving to a Jungle Culture safety razor and my goodness are they good!

These bamboo handled safety razors are a brilliant alternative to plastic throwaways and they look so sleek and stylish too!

Why not treat your dad to a thoughtful and super useful gift that will last him a lifetime.

7. Vegan Leather Lunch Bag

Now these are a brilliant idea! Reusable, tear resistant and machine washable bags, perfect for packing lunches and snacks on the go.

They are made from a natural cellulose and latex combination which makes them hardwearing and washable with a look that even ages like leather.

Bags close with a metal snap fastening and they are available in 2 different sizes.

8. Paracord Bracelet

Got an ourdoorsy dad? They we've got you covered. These climbing inspired bracelets have been handmade using military grade paracord and a carabiner clip for fastening.

Fully adjustable so one size fits all, they would make a great gift for all mountain lovers.

Bracelets come in eco-friendly packaging too which is perfect!

9. Climbing Rope Mouse Mat

If you are into your sustainable living then you will have heard the phrase 'reduce, reuse & recycle' many times. Well, the fab folk at Made by Scavenger live and breath this ethos. They save unwanted and old climbing gear from going to landfill and turn it into brilliant and useful new products like mouse mats, bags, belts and even teddy bears!

Go and check them out, they are awesome!

10. Gentleman's Soap Bar

This handmade peppermint and lemon essential oil soap creates a refreshing blend fit for any gentleman.

The soap has added pumice for an exfoliating texture too.

The Dartmoor Soap Co makes a great range of soaps, candles and reed diffusers so there are plenty of brilliant gift ideas for any occasion.

11. Bamboo Socks

Well, I couldn't do a Father's day gift guide without adding in a pair of socks, and these ones are crackers!!

Bamboo is a great material, especially for using in socks. It's soft, durable and helps to wick moisture away, keeping feet dry.

It's also a sustainable material so a win win if you ask me!

12. Plantable Dad Card

What a gorgeous idea for a sentimental and eco-conscious Father's day greetings card!

This pretty illustrated card is printed on plantable paper - handmade paper that has wildflower seeds embedded inside it! So once you are finished with having it on display, you plant it!

Available with a range of different prints, colours and messages to choose from. I just love these!

So, there you have it, my 12 fun, useful and eco-friendly gift ideas for Father's day. Each gift is perfect on its own, or you could combine a few items together to create an extra special Eco-hamper! Whichever way you do it, these gifts are sure to surprise while showing that you care and support your dad’s sustainable lifestyle choices.

Happy Father's Day Eco-Dads!
